It Is Never Too Late to Begin...

If you are thinking to yourself, I'm too old, overweight, injured, or out of shape to do Taekwondo, please read the following:

Regardless of age or physicality, taekwondo is a possibility for nearly everyone. Modifications can be made to accommodate each person's strengths and limitations.  You can progress through the ranking at your personal speed.  As long as your doctor approves your participation, you can join us. Through the Midwest Taekwondo Association, we have witnessed people of all ages and fitness levels be successful including multiple people with knee, back, or shoulder issues and people all the way into their 80's.  Do not let age or fear of being out of shape prevent you from trying taekwondo.

"When I began as a white belt, I could barely walk up the stairs due to multiple knee dislocations.  I also had a huge issue with balance. I have found that Taekwondo is better than going to physical therapy in my opinion.  I went to physical therapy for three years with little improvement in balance or knee strength.  At the time I was a green recommended belt (belt number four), I realized suddenly one day that my knee had not dislocated in long time.  I was able to stand on one foot without getting dizzy or falling over.  This is my sixth year in taekwondo.  I did not come into it as an athletic person. Now I can do jump and spin kicks.  It has improved my well-being beyond what I ever thought possible."
